Publishing Modules and Diagrams

When you publish modules or diagrams, they are copied from their local directory to a directory on the INUBIT Process Engine. The local diagrams and modules are deleted.

Every time you publish, a new version of your diagram or module is created. All versions remain intact and can be displayed and activated (if they are Technical Workflows) at any time.

Publishing a workflow is canceled, if the workflow to be published contains modules that cannot be published, for example, because the output mapping is missing in a Task Generator. Already published modules remain published.

Diagrams can not be published when a module wizard window is open.

Usage

Publishing is part of a multi-stage concept for creating, testing and publishing diagrams and modules on separate systems.

Functions in server mode

After publishing, the diagrams and modules are in server mode and are fully functional. In particular, you can now use the following functions of the INUBIT software:

  • Have diagrams executed as time-controlled

  • Use watch mode

  • File Connector: read several files

  • Versioning

Proceed as follows

  1. Depending on whether you want to publish individual diagrams and modules or all diagrams and modules of a folder, execute one of the following steps:

    • To publish all diagrams or modules, select the folder.

    • To publish individual modules or diagrams, select the individual diagrams or modules.

  2. Open the context menu and choose Publish. A dialog opens.

    • When you publish diagrams, all selected diagrams in this dialog and all modules contained therein are listed in this dialog.

    • When you publish modules, only modules are displayed. The color of the text signifies the following:

      • Black: The property is present on the target system with the same values.

      • Green: The property is not yet present on the target system.

      • Blue: The property is present on the target system with different values.

        You can change the colors.
Refer to Changing INUBIT Workbench Settings.

        1. Define the target directories.
The first time you publish you can choose the target directory.
Following that, the system always publishes to the same directory.

        2. Enter a comment to enable other users to track changes.

        3. If the change display and e-mail notification for linked diagrams are active, you can suppress the notification and display for minor changes here.

  3. Click OK. The dialog closes.
→ The diagrams and modules are published and displayed in the Server tab.
