The EDI Rule Management helps in viewing and managing the EDI rules available in the server.

Information about table columns

In the EDI Rule Management, the following information is displayed:

Column name Explanation

Format

Types of EDI standard, such as EDIFACT, ANSI X12 or VDA etc.

Rule Name

EDI conversion rules file name.

Release

Specifies the release number. Identifies the publication of the standard being used for the generation.

Agency

Code to identify the agency controlling the specification, maintenance, and publication of the message type.

Version

Specifies the version number of rule file.

Association assigned

Code, assigned by the association responsible for the design and maintenance of the message type concerned, which further identifies the message.

Qualifier present

Shows whether the qualifier exists for given rule file in cache or not.

Schema present

Shows whether the schema exists for given rule file in cache or not.

EDI Rule Management Functions

In the EDI Rule Management context menu, the following menu items are available:

  • Add…
    Allows you to select a new rule file format, version, release and publish the selected rule file. By default, the option is enabled in the toolbar and in the context menu.

  • Add rule folder…
    Allows you to choose folder containing EDI files. You can also select one or more EDI files instead of a folder. By default, the option is enabled in the toolbar and in the context menu.

  • Edit…
    Allows you to edit the selected rule file. You can click Save to save and publish the changes. Otherwise, click Cancel to abort the changes.
    This option is enabled in the toolbar and the context menu only when a single rule file of the supported license format is selected.

  • Download…
    Allows you to download the files to the selected folder.
    This option is enabled in the toolbar and the context menu only when a single or multiple rule file of the supported license format is selected.

  • Delete
    Allows you to delete the selected files after confirmation prompt. This option is enabled in the toolbar and the context menu only when a single or multiple rule file is selected.

  • Rename
    Allows you to rename the EDI rule file.

User Rights for EDI Rule Management

If EDI Rule Management is selected under User Roles > Administration, the tab will be displayed.
