Installing and Configuring the INUBIT Software

Proceed as follows

  1. Install the INUBIT software into a new directory.

  2. Add your license to the INUBIT software.

The INUBIT license must cover at least the same scope as the source version license.

  3. Install the desired database for INUBIT Monitoring and for the Repository.

    1. Set up the database again or set up a new workspace in the database used up to now.

You must not delete the existing databases/workspaces on the source system until the migration is completed.

    2. Install the database driver.

    3. Configure the Monitoring database and the Repository database.

      Refer to:

  4. Configure the external settings if necessary.

  5. Start the Process Engine at the destination system to initialize the database(es).

Installing Database Driver on Destination System

Prerequisites

The source database management system and the target database management system must be the same.

Proceed as follows

Install the source system’s database drivers used for Repository, Monitoring database, and for the cache database required for INUBIT 8.0 on the destination system in the directory <inubit-installdir>/server/process_engine/lib.

On the destination system, install the required JDBC drivers.

All database drivers that are necessary to execute workflows and that were installed via the Workbench or via CLI at the source system, are not imported automatically into the correct directory at the destination system. Hence, you need to upload these drivers to the Process Engine using the Workbench or the command line interface.

To avoid conflicts please note the following: * Install the drivers for the cache database into the directory <inubit-installdir>/server/process_engine/lib. * Install further database drivers via the Workbench or the CLI. * Install a database driver version once only. * Install just one database driver version of a particular manufacturer.

Installing Libraries from the Former lib Directory

Usage

To provide libraries from both directories <inubit-installdir>/server/lib/ext and <inubit-installdir>/server/lib/system of your former INUBIT installation to the newly installed INUBIT 8.0.

You must not copy database drivers from the former INUBIT installation to the new installation. You must not install database drivers to the lib directory neither multiple times nor in multiple driver versions, not even with different file names.

Proceed as follows

Install the drivers from the following directories using the INUBIT Workbench or the CLI of the newly installed INUBIT 8.0:

  • <inubit-installdir>/server/lib/ext directory of your former INUBIT installation

  • <inubit-installdir>/server/lib/system directory of your former INUBIT installation

Migrating External Settings

Individual settings of your configuration will not be adopted automatically, and they must not be adopted directly from the source system. Assign these settings to the target system manually.

Samples for individual system configurations are application server configurations, start scripts and customized settings of the portal:

  • Start files including the size of the used JVM heaps (-Xmx).

  • Customizations of the Tomcat configuration, for example customized servlet mapping in the Tomcat configuration <inubit‑installdir>/server/process_engine/conf/web.xml

  • Changes of the portal server configuration, for example: portal‑ext.properties in <liferay-installdir>/<Tomcat-dir>/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/classes.

  • Files for configuring Web applications, for example CSS files in <inubit-installdir>/server/ibis_root/conf/form.
