1. selection of the required packages

When selecting the appropriate package, a distinction is made between the monitoring server and the satellite server. A monitoring server monitors many satellite servers. It contains the data management and front-end components of the VIMON.

The following package must always be installed on all systems:

  • Linux: vimon_base_linux.tgz
    or

  • Windows: vimon_base_windows.zip

A suitable selection can then be made from the other packages.

Selection for typical monitoring server

A typical monitoring server consists of the following packages:

Linux:

  • grafana_linux.tgz

  • prometheus_linux.tgz

  • loki_linux.tgz

  • node_exporter_linux.tgz

  • dashboards_linux.tgz

Windows:

  • grafana_windows.zip

  • prometheus_windows.zip

  • loki_windows.zip

  • windows_exporter_windows.zip

  • dashboards_windows.zip

The server can be individually expanded with additional packages if it is also to be monitored in greater depth.

Selection for minimum satellite node

A minimum satellite node consists of the following packages:

Linux:

  • OS exporter:

    • process_exporter_linux.tgz

    • node_exporter_linux.tgz

  • promtail_linux.tgz

Windows:

  • windows_exporter_windows.zip

  • promtail_windows.zip

Selection for operation with Process Engine

If a Process Engine is used on the server, it is often recommended to add:

Linux:

  • isdb_exporter_linux.tgz

  • diskbench_exporter_linux.tgz

  • jmxterm_exporter_linux.tgz

  • script_exporter_linux.tgz

Windows:

  • isdb_exporter_windows.zip

  • diskbench_exporter_windows.zip

Selection for operation with MariaDB/MysQL

If the Process Engine is operated with a local MariaDB/MySQL, the MySQL exporter should also be installed:

  • Linux: mysql_exporter_linux.tgz

  • Windows: mysql_exporter_windows.zip

Selection for hosts with reverse proxy/load balancer

If it is a host with reverse proxy/load balancer:

  • Linux: cert_exporter_linux.tgz
